Newark Woman Reported Missing 2 Weeks Ago, Search Continues

The missing woman's family last spoke with her in December, police said.

NEWARK, NJ — Police are asking for the public’s help finding an Essex County woman who was reported missing more than two weeks ago, authorities announced Friday.

According to the Newark Department of Public Safety, police continue their search for Jessica Gonzalez, 35, of Newark. She was reported missing on Jan. 20.

Gonzalez’s family members last spoke with her on Dec. 13, authorities said.

Police said Gonzalez is Hispanic and has black, curly hair. She is 5 feet 5 inches and weighs about 150 pounds. She was last seen wearing black pants, a black sweater and black Nike sneakers.

Gonzalez is known to frequent Park Avenue and North 7th Street in Newark, police said.

Authorities said anyone with information can contact the Police Division’s 24-hour Crime Stopper tip line at 1-877-NWK-TIPS (1-877-695-8477). Anonymous tips can also be made using the Police Division’s website.
