Newark Youth Showcases His Fishing Skills At County-Run Derby
A young angler from Newark prevailed in a fishing derby at Grover Cleveland Park in Essex County.

NEWARK, NJ — A young angler from Newark recently prevailed in a fishing derby at Grover Cleveland Park in Essex County.
Aashir Bennette of Newark caught the most fish in the boys’ age 11 to 15 category at a county-run fishing derby held at Grover Cleveland Park, which is located in Caldwell and Essex Fells.
Bennette reeled in three fish, netting him top honors for the day in his age group.

The event was co-sponsored by the Roseland Recreation Department.
Future derbies are scheduled for Weequahic Park in Newark on May 23, Verona Park on May 24, South Mountain Recreation Complex on May 25 and Branch Brook Park on June 3.
