Newarker’s need a pathway to a real Housing plan, “Build more housing

A path to where? They building Luxury High Rise Apartments, while lifelong Newarker’s and homeowners are being displaced.

Pushing the people in and out of shelters. I call it, “Recycling Homelessness”. The recent homeless initiatives come on the heels of election campaign season. In my opinion, It’s just more of a campaign scheme. More election propaganda to make it seem like they doing the right thing. All a Political show.

Ask yourself Newarker’s, Where's the 1st dibs on housing? Where's the low income apartments recommended by RutgersNewark housing disparities report? Lifelong Newarker's can't even find housing, and plus the rents are too high for Newarkers. Majority of Newarker’s are living below the poverty line, and we need housing that meets the area median income (AMI) for citizens of Newark

Homeless by Evictions & Foreclosures has increased in Newark-Essex County and statewide.

Newark tenants are facing the highest rate of evictions in the County of Essex and in the State of New Jersey. There's been almost a billion dollars allocated to Newark to address the homeless crisis, but the homeless numbers continue to rise…Community advocates have been requesting an independent audit/ and monitor of our homeless dollars, and asked our elected officials to begin addressing the root causes for homelessness such as the high rents, the housing shortage, the joblessness, the poverty, the redlining and housing discriminations.

I’ve been urging the people of Newark to call Ras Baraka at 973-733-6400 and Phil Murphy at 609-292-6000, and ask them to pay a visit to Newark-Essex County Landlord-Tenant Court, to witness the eviction Tsunami that is taking place in Newark. Ask them to put a moratorium on evictions until they come up with a real sustainable plan to address the evictions, Job & Homeless crisis. The Shelters & Containers are filled to capacity
