NJ Devils To Make Martin Brodeur 'Time Capsule': Seek Fan Submissions
A statue of the legendary Devils' goaltender on Championship Plaza will contain fan-submitted keepsakes. Will yours be among them?
Newark, NJ - The New Jersey Devils and Prudential Center announced on Thursday that the team will hold a contest offering a limited number of fans the opportunity to place their favorite piece of Martin Brodeur memorabilia in a statue of the goaltender that will stand on Championship Plaza.
The statue, named “The Salute” after the iconic photo of Brodeur holding his stick in the air at his last game, will be unveiled as part of the four-day celebration of Brodeur, presented by Prudential, before his No. 30 jersey is retired by the team on Feb. 9 when the Devils host the Edmonton Oilers.
According to a release from the NJ Devils, fans can enter the contest at www.NewJerseyDevils.com/martymoments by describing their favorite “Marty Moment” and what piece of memorabilia they would like to enclose in the statue forever. Five winners will be selected and invited to be a part of the special ceremony on February 8 at Prudential Center.
