“All blood types are needed to ensure a reliable supply for patients. A blood donor card or driver’s license or two other forms of identification are required at check-in. Individuals who are 17 years of age in most states (16 with parental consent where allowed by state law), weigh at least 110 pounds and are in generally good health may be eligible to donate blood. High school students and other donors 18 years of age and younger also have to meet certain height and weight requirements.”
The blood drive is open to the general public, and while appointments are encouraged, walk-ins are gladly accepted, as space is available. To schedule an appointment, please call 1-800-REDCROSS or visit www.newjerseydevils.com/blooddrive.
“We have the honor and responsibility, as an important member of the New Jersey community, to create positive change and support those in the communities where our fans live, work and play,” said Jeff Scott, Vice President of Community Investment and Grassroots with the New Jersey Devils and Prudential Center.
“Partnering with RWJBarnabas Health and the Red Cross each year to host and support this meaningful event is one of the most impactful days on our calendar,” Scott added.
