NJ Food Bank Gets Huge Donation Of Non-GMO, Gluten-Free Pasta And Sauce
When sauce and pasta come together, good things can happen.
When sauce and pasta come together, good things can happen. That’s what took place when Hoboken Farms and Banza recently teamed up to donate 7,100 pounds of sauce and 6,300 pounds of pasta to benefit the clients of the Community FoodBank of New Jersey.
According to a news release, the sauce and pasta will equal around 50,000 servings, which will reach people through the Community FoodBank’s network of more than 1,000 local partners throughout the state, including soup kitchens, food pantries, shelters and school programs.
The sauce and pasta are also health conscious products, an often-overlooked detail people forget when making donations, organizers said. Hoboken Farms sauces are certified non-GMO and gluten-free; Banza pasta is made from chickpeas and is also non-GMO and gluten-free, according to a company news release.
