NEWARK, NJ — Hearing the New Jersey Symphony Orchestra play the Cantina Band song might be worth the price of admission alone.

Just in time for the holidays, the New Jersey Symphony Orchestra (NJSO) is planning to play at a series of live screenings of Stars Wars classics “A New Hope” and “The Empire Strikes Back,” recreating John Williams’ Oscar-winning scores as the movies play in the background.

The NJSO will perform the music from “A New Hope” on the following dates:

  • Friday, Nov. 23 - Count Basie Center for the Arts (Red Bank)
  • Saturday, Nov. 24 - New Jersey Performing Arts Center (Newark)
  • Sunday, Nov. 25 - State Theatre New Jersey (New Brunswick)

The NJSO will perform the music from “The Empire Strikes Back” on the following dates:
