NEWARK, NJ — An Uber driver was assaulted by a passenger in Newark last week, authorities say.
According to the Newark Department of Public Safety, the driver picked up four passengers around 7:30 p.m. on Feb. 1. Three of them – two men and a woman – sat in the back seat. Another man sat in the front seat.
The man in the front seat got upset when the driver said he wouldn’t take them to Easton, Pennsylvania. He punched the driver several times in the face, then all of the passengers got out of the car and fled northbound on Monroe Street, police said.
