UPDATED: Pedestrian Accident In Newark Claims Life
An armored van struck the Newark resident on Mulberry Street and Raymond Boulevard.

An armored truck struck and killed a pedestrian in Newark on Tuesday, authorities have confirmed.
According to the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office, the accident took place around 2 p.m., when an armored van struck the man while he was crossing Raymond Boulevard between McCarter Highway and Mulberry Street.
The pedestrian has been identified as Roosevelt Bennett, 57, of Newark. Bennett was pronounced dead at the scene at 2:32 pm.
