Pennsylvania Man Dies In Newark Shooting; Investigation Continues

A 22-year-old man from Scranton, Pennsylvania died after a shooting in Newark. No arrests have been made, authorities said.

NEWARK, NJ — A shooting in Newark claimed the life of a Pennsylvania resident on Friday, authorities said.

According to the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office, Newark police officers responded to Georgia King Village in Newark at 5:11 p.m. after getting a report about gunshots in the area. They found Khalil Mosby, 22, of Scranton, Pennsylvania at the scene; he was transported to University Hospital and pronounced dead at 5:41 p.m.

The Essex County Prosecutor’s Office Homicide/Major Crimes Task Force, which includes detectives from the Newark Police Department, is investigating the fatal shooting. No arrests have been made, authorities said.
