Personal Care Packages, Hot Lunch At Holiday Giveaway In Newark

AvaCare Medical is partnering with Newark-based nonprofit St. James Social Services Corporation for the Dec. 22 event.

NEWARK, NJ — In the “holiday spirit of giving,” AvaCare Medical is partnering with Newark-based nonprofit St. James Social Services Corporation (SJSSC) to distribute personal care packages to Newark residents in need.

According to a news release, team members from both organizations will be on-site distributing “packages of hope” on Thursday, Dec. 22 from noon to 3 p.m. at SJSSC. Newark residents can also get a hot lunch from noon to 2 p.m. at the Soulfood Cafe, SJSSC’s soup kitchen that feeds more than 175 people each day with nutritious, well-balanced meals.

Weekly service schedules for meals, clothing, and food pantry services can be found on the SJSSC website. Donations can also be made on the website, or through Zelle and sent to socialservices@stjamesssc.org.
