Picknelly added that the company was “very pleased with the cooperation of NJ Transit.”

The addition of Peter Pan service at Newark Penn comes as other private bus companies have been nixing routes in the city and nearby area.

Coach USA recently announced that it was pulling the plug on three of its New Jersey routes – the 24, 31 and 44. The routes ran through Orange, Newark and Elizabeth (ONE), as well as South Orange and East Orange.

Nearby, independent bus company A&C recently ended four lines that serve the Jersey City area.

In March 2020, DeCamp Bus Lines – which ran several routes from North Jersey to New York City – announced that it was ending commuter services across the Hudson River.
