Newark Public Charter School Celebrates Culture and Community with Hispanic Heritage Month and Fall Harvest Trunk-or-Treat Events
Roseville Community Charter School (RCCS) is proud to share two recent successful fall events that brought joy and a strong sense of community and belonging to its scholars and their families:
Hispanic Heritage Month Culminating Event: A Global Learning Experience
On October 13th, Roseville Community Charter School celebrated the close of Hispanic Heritage Month and Dr. Dionne Ledford, the Executive Director & Superintendent, commended the dedication of the teachers and staff in creating a month-long journey of hands-on learning about Hispanic heritage, culture, and contributions.

As a highlight, all RCCS scholars embarked on a "flight" with Roseville United Airlines to explore the diversity of Latin America. Boarding from "The RCCS International Airport," students returned not only with passport stamps but also with a broader perspective on the world around them.
Dr. Ledford expressed her pride, saying, "This is what quality, hands-on, project-based learning looks like, and I am so proud to serve as the 'captain' of this amazing 'crew' of educators!"

“Family Fall Harvest & Trunk or Treat” Extravaganza: Fostering Community Spirit
On October 26th, RCCS hosted its annual “Family Fall Harvest & Trunk or Treat” event, marking the start of the Fall season and also the new school year. The event saw increased participation compared to the previous year, and was another memorable experience for scholars and families.
The event, aimed at strengthening the home-school connection for Roseville families, featured a pumpkin patch, creatively decorated car trunks filled with treats, and delicious snacks. Driven by their spirit of community, Roseville parents, teachers, and staff collaborated to make the event a success.
Dr. Ledford again shared her appreciation, stating, “Teamwork makes the DREAM work, and we thank our parents, teachers, and staff who work hard to make our scholars’ dreams come true! Happy Fall to all!”
Both events underscore RCCS's commitment to holistic education, blending academic excellence with community engagement and cultural enrichment.
