Rumba Latina Fest 2024 In Newark’s South Ward: Local Events

The free event will be headlined by Jersey-raised merengue star Raul Acosta and his band, Oro Solido.

On Saturday, Sept. 7, Newark residents are invited to the Rumba Latina Fest 2024 from noon to 7 p.m. at the Clinton Avenue Sound Stage Park, 450 Clinton Avenue, in the South Ward, to enjoy the rich culture of the Hispanic community at the return of “Rumba Latina.”

Presented by South Ward Councilman Patrick Council, the free event will be headlined by Jersey-raised merengue star Raul Acosta and his sensational band, Oro Solido, along with legendary D.J. Commandante hosting the event. The afternoon will also include food, vendors, resource tables, live music, fun activities and more. There will be something for everyone.

Newark’s South Ward is now home to several diverse groups, which include a growing Hispanic population. The South Ward Hispanic community undoubtedly contributes to the vibrant culture. Councilman Council is proud to celebrate Hispanic culture and returning this event to The Mighty South Ward.

Oro Solido has produced hit after hit and is considered one of the most popular bands in the world of merengue. Raul Acosta will be celebrating his birthday weekend and the group will be performing hits such as “Ta Cache,” “La Tanguita Rojas,” “La Morena” and new releases.
