Rush Limbaugh Reportedly Got Rush-Hour NJ-To-NY Police Escort
The Port Authority says it's investigating the conservative radio host's boast that he got special treatment from NJ and NY officials.

The Port Authority says it's looking into a claim by Rush Limbaugh, the controversial conservative talk show host who has drawn the ire of various political and racial groups, that he recently got special treatment from New Jersey and New York officials.
On his radio show, Limbaugh said he flew from Washington D.C. to Newark Liberty International Airport on April 12 to speak at the Marine Corps Law Enforcement Foundation's 2018 Semper Fidelis Gala at Cipriani Wall Street in Manhattan.
On his show, Limbaugh said: "They sent the superintendent of the Port Authority to Newark to meet me for lights and sirens into Manhattan to make sure I got there in time. And we did.

"We pulled in right as the reception and cocktail period was ending at 7 and everybody was being seated, and it was one inspirational speaker after another."
"We recently became aware of this matter and are investigating internally," said Ron Marsico, a spokesman for the Port Authority.

Michael Fedorko is the Port Authority superintendent. He joined joined the bi-state agency in 2009 after retiring from the New Jersey State Police, and is one of the vice presidents of the Marine Corps Law Enforcement Foundation, according to nj.com.
A source familiar with agency protocols also told nj.com that providing a police escort for a celebrity is improper.
According to a transcript of his show, Limbaugh said he had to "race out of here after the program" to get to the event.
"I had to fly up. I had to fly to Newark because the superintendent of the Port Authority… I’m leaving something out. They asked me to speak when General Mattis couldn’t make it. You talk about…? These people have all paid (laughing) to be in there to hear the secretary of defense, and he can’t make it, and so it’s me. Jim Kallstrom, former director of the FBI office in New York, is who asked me."
