Rutgers Newark Cancels Classes Due To Snowstorm
Rutgers University has cancelled all classes across its system from Saturday, Jan. 23, to noon on Sunday, Jan. 24.

Newark, NJ – Rutgers University has cancelled all classes across its system from Saturday, Jan. 23, to noon on Sunday, Jan. 24, in light of an anticipated blizzard and winter snowstorm.

According to a university announcement, the Rutgers Newark campus will take the following additional measures during a severe weather event this weekend:
- The following buildings will remain closed while classes are cancelled: John Cotton Dana Library, Paul Robeson Campus Center, and the Golden Dome. The law library also will be closed Saturday.
- All campus activities and events are canceled for Saturday.
- No parking will be permitted in Rutgers University – Newark surface parking lots, but Parking Decks 1 and 2 will remain open.
- Rutgers shuttles will not run on Saturday, January 23.
- Employees who are regularly scheduled to work on Saturday, January 23 should communicate directly with their appropriate supervisors about reporting requirements and work assignments.
“We urge all members of our community to take appropriate precautions in light of the severe weather and avoid all unnecessary travel,” university officials stated.
