School Closed In Newark On Friday Due To Weather Forecast
Newark School Officials: "Essential personnel will report to their assigned locations at their designated times."
NEWARK, NJ -- The Newark Public School District will be closed on Friday, Jan. 19 amid a poor winter weather forecast.

While Newark wasn't among them as of Thursday evening, the local public school district is getting prepared for an ugly morning commute, officials say.

According to a message from the district:
"Due to inclement weather, all Newark Public Schools will be closed on Friday, January 19, 2024. Central Office will activate their virtual offices. Essential personnel will report to their assigned locations at their designated times."
