Shooting Near Newark, South Orange Border; Victim Hospitalized

A man was wounded in a shooting that took place at the border of Newark and South Orange, authorities said.

ESSEX COUNTY, NJ — A man was wounded in a shooting that took place at the border of Newark and South Orange early Thursday morning, authorities said.

Police responded to Kenmore Avenue near Holland Road at 1:25 a.m. after getting a call about a shooting, according to the Newark Department of Public Safety.

Officers found a man with a gunshot wound at the scene. Emergency responders transported him to University Hospital in Newark. He is reportedly in stable condition, police said.
