Shooting In Newark Claims Life Of Somerset Resident: Police

The shooting may have happened during a robbery, authorities said.

NEWARK, NJ — Police are investigating a fatal shooting that took place on Sunday in Newark and claimed the life of a Somerset resident.

David K. Gondos, 23, was shot on the 500-block of South 13th Street in Newark, according to a joint statement from the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office and the Newark Public Safety Department.

Gondos was pronounced dead at University Hospital at 4:31 p.m. on Monday, authorities said.
