Smoke Shop In Newark Robbed; Employee Hit With Gun: Police
Two people robbed a smoke and vape shop in Newark, escaping with cash from the register, police said.

NEWARK, NJ — Two people robbed a smoke and vape shop in Newark last month, escaping with cash from the register, police recently announced.
According to the Newark Department of Public Safety, police responded to the Cloud Depot Vape and Smoke Shop on Lafayette Street at 9:12 p.m. on March 25 after getting a call about a robbery.
The victim told officers that a man and a woman walked into the store and the man brandished a gun when the worker showed them cigars in a display case. The employee said he tried to defend himself, but the man hit him in the head with the weapon.

Meanwhile, the woman took an unknown amount of money from the register. They both ran from the store eastbound on Lafayette Street, police said.
The male suspect has a medium build and was wearing a green bubble jacket, blue jeans and brown boots. The female suspect has a thin build and was wearing all black clothing, police said (see surveillance photos below).
