SNAP (Food Stamp) Application Assistance in Newark

FREE pre-screening and application assistance available January 23 and 29

The SNAP Outreach team from the Community FoodBank of New Jersey will be in Newark to help low-income families and senior citizens see if they might qualify for food stamps. They will help those people likely to be eligible for food stamp benefits fill out an online application. Support in English and Spanish will be available at the following locations:

  • Jan 23: 9am to noon at Eben-Ezer Church Food Pantry, 1152 South Orange Avenue
  • Jan 29: 9am to 3pm at La Casa de Don Pedro, 23 Broadway, Youth, Family & Health Services and Family Success Center I

The Outreach team provides free SNAP eligibility pre-screenings at emergency food pantries, senior centers, soup kitchens, churches, and other community sites serving low-income families in 18 New Jersey counties. The Community FoodBank of NJ also distributes 43 million pounds of food a year to more than 1,400 programs which feed almost 1 million New Jersey residents.
