Snowstorm Causes Headaches For NJ Bus Riders Headed To NYC

NJ Transit, Martz, Trailways and Peter Pan have reported service disruptions, the Port Authority said.

NEWARK, NJ — Bus riders in New Jersey who are trying to travel to New York City on Tuesday might want to come up with a backup plan due to an ugly winter snowstorm forecast.

Weather forecasters are predicting heavy snowfall, coastal flooding and fierce winds capable of causing power outages, with up to a foot of snow possible in North Jersey on Tuesday.

A Hazardous Weather Outlook and a Winter Storm Watch is in effect for the North Jersey area.

The weather is already impacting thousands of commuters who travel from New Jersey to the Midtown Bus Terminal in New York.

According to the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, several bus carriers have canceled service as of 9 a.m. on Monday, and others are experiencing delays. NJ Transit, Martz, Trailways, Peter Pan and HCEE have reported service disruptions.
