Soccer Stars Raise Spirits Of Patients At New Jersey Hospitals

Several NJ/NY Gotham FC soccer players paid a visit to RWJBarnabas Health hospitals throughout New Jersey.

NEWARK, NJ — Several NJ/NY Gotham FC soccer players paid a visit to RWJBarnabas Health hospitals throughout New Jersey last week to help lift patients’ spirits and highlight the importance of community outreach, including a trip to Newark.

The National Women’s Soccer League defending champions delivered gifts, signed autographs and took photos with patients, physicians, nurses and staff.

Newark Beth Israel Medical Center and Children’s Hospital of New Jersey got a visit from U.S. Women’s World Cup champion and Olympic gold medalist Kelley O’Hara and standout midfielder Delanie Sheehan, who both spent time and swapped soccer stories with patients in the pediatric inpatient and ICU units.
