Summer at NJIT Is Hot on Pre-College Education

With its range of STEM-focused and academic programs, NJIT's Center for Pre-College Programs has become a model for pre-college education

In just a matter of months, students at NJIT will be a bit younger than usual. Come this July and August, middle and high schoolers from throughout New Jersey will flock to the university’s campus for NJIT’s Center for Pre-College Programs’ (CPCP) summer offerings. Some students will even reside on campus for a fully immersive college experience.

With its range of STEM-focused and academic programs, CPCP has become a model for pre-college education that not only provides opportunities for success in STEM, but also helps increase access to college. More than 70 percent of responding NJIT pre-college alumni who have graduated from high school have gone on to enroll in STEM undergraduate programs and/or careers in STEM fields.
