Suspected Rutgers Killer Still At Large: Cops Offer $10K Reward
The suspected killer of 21-year-old Rutgers student and Toms River resident Shani Patel is still at large, authorities say.

Newark, NJ – The suspected killer of 21-year-old Rutgers student and Toms River resident Shani Patel is still at large, authorities say.
According to the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office, Fraynned Ramirez, 26, of Hartford, Connecticut, has been charged with murder, felony murder and robbery in connection with Patel’s death on April 10.
According to prosecutors, Patel was fatally shot at his Central Avenue off-campus apartment.

A substantial amount of drugs and money were found at the scene of the fatal shooting, and authorities believe the shooting may have occurred during a robbery, according to nj.com.

Prosecutors stated Monday that Ramirez is wanted and remains at large. He is presumed to be armed and dangerous.

Last week, authorities charged Marcus Feliz, 25, of Newark, with murder, felony murder and robbery in connection with Patel’s death. Feliz is currently being held at the Essex County Correctional Facility; his bail was set at $750,000.
Feliz and Ramirez are not students at Rutgers University, authorities stated.
Patel's Facebook and Linkedin profiles identify him as a member of the Rutgers Class of 2016 who graduated from Toms River North High School in 2012.
The Essex County Sheriff’s Crimestoppers Program is offering a reward of up to $10,000 for information leading to Ramirez’s arrest.
