Tammy Murphy, Sheila Oliver and More To Be Honored at Women of Achievement Gala

Emerge New Jersey Recognizing Female State Leaders on Oct. 12

Emerge New Jersey, the premier political training organization for Democratic women in the state, will hold its Second Annual Women of Achievement Gala this Thursday, October 12, 2017 from 7-10pm at Mayfair Farms on 481 Eagle Rock Ave in West Orange, New Jersey.

This year’s Women of Achievement Gala will honor five Democratic women who are breaking barriers and building the bench for a Democratic future in New Jersey. “Our gala honorees are incredible individuals who have contributed to empowering and electing women, and we are honored to recognize their
achievements,” said Emerge New Jersey Executive Director Truscha Quatrone.

During the Gala, former Governors Jim McGreevey and James Florio, and Senator Robert Torricelli will give remarks on the critical importance of women running for office and the role Emerge New Jersey plays in getting women elected. To date, more than 50 women have successfully completed the Emerge New Jersey political training program. Many of which, have gone on to run and win elected office in New Jersey including
Essex County Freeholder Board President Britnee Timberlake, Madison Borough Councilwoman Maureen Byrne and Neptune Township Councilwoman Carol Rizzo.

The Second Annual Women of Achievement of Gala also serves as a fundraising gala, where attendees will be
able to have cocktails, enjoy a full course dinner, and celebrate Emerge New Jersey’s largest event of the year. The First Annual Women of Achievement Gala honored eight women – Marie Blistan, Jeannine LaRue, Maggie Moran, Shawn Kathryn Laurenti, Tricia Mueller, Arlene Quinones Perez, Mary Knowles, Donna T. Pepe – and Emerge New Jersey’s Honorable “Men”tor, Chairman John Currie.

Proceeds from the Gala, will help Emerge New Jersey continue its efforts to build a pipeline of women leaders for a Democratic future. General admission is $250.00 per person and tickets can be purchased here.
