Teen From Pennsylvania Fatally Shot In Newark, NJ: Police

An 18-year-old Pennsylvania resident died in a shooting in Newark, New Jersey, authorities said.

NEWARK, NJ — An 18-year-old Pennsylvania resident died in a shooting in Newark, New Jersey on Thursday, authorities said.

Lester Ingram, 18, of Kingston, Pennsylvania, was fatally shot on Vine Street in Newark at approximately 3:05 p.m., according to a joint statement from the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office and the Newark Department of Public Safety.

Ingram was pronounced dead at the scene at 3:30 p.m., authorities said.

No arrests have been made as of Friday, authorities stated. No additional information was immediately available.

The Essex County Prosecutor’s Office Homicide/Major Crimes Task Force, which includes detectives from the Newark Police Department, is investigating the shooting.
