UCC's 'Spring Into Action' School Break Youth Programming Returns

Greater Newark youth can spend their spring break vacation enjoying fun activities at UCC's "Spring Into Action" programming

NEWARK — Youth across Greater Newark can spend their spring break vacation enjoying fun activities, competitive sports, educational workshops and more during United Community Corporation’s (UCC) “Spring into Action” week-long programming.

The program takes place starting Monday, April 21, through Friday, April 25, at the West Side Park Community Center, located at 600 S. 17th St., Newark. The initiative provides Greater Newark youth a safe and collaborative space to spend their spring break with themed programs each day, free of charge. The week’s activities include financial literacy workshops, a youth podcasting session, and athletics like flag football and basketball.

“Spring into Action is a powerful reminder of what’s possible when we invest in our youth. This week is about more than keeping them busy during spring break—it’s about unlocking their potential,” said UCC Youth, Family and Senior Services Department Senior Director Yolanda Loney. “From the energy of sports competitions to the life-changing lessons in financial literacy and the creativity sparked through youth podcasting, every moment is designed to uplift, empower, and equip our young people to take charge of their futures with confidence and purpose.”
