Union Man Accused Of Hit-And-Run In Newark: Prosecutors
An Ohio resident died in a hit-and-run that took place in Newark, authorities said.
NEWARK, NJ — An Ohio resident died in a hit-and-run that took place in Newark last weekend, authorities said.
Ray D. Horace, 43, of Youngstown, Ohio, was struck as he exited his parked vehicle on Saturday, according to the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office.
The driver, later identified as Jarell L. Patterson, 30, of Union, allegedly hit Horace and kept going. He was eventually pulled over by police in Hillside, prosecutors said.

Police arrested Patterson and charged him with second degree vehicular homicide, leaving the scene of an accident and endangering an injured person. He was transported to the Essex County Correctional Facility in Newark.
