Major Airline Cutting Flights From Newark Airport: Reports
United Airlines will cut about 50 domestic flights per day from Newark Airport this summer to help ease worries about congestion.

NEWARK, NJ — United Airlines will temporarily cut 12 percent of its flights from Newark Liberty International Airport this summer to help ease worries about potential congestion, reports say.
The airline, which is headquartered in Chicago and maintains a hub in Newark, will be cutting about 50 daily domestic departures from Newark Airport starting on July 1, Reuters reported.
United said it received a waiver from the FAA for the remainder of the summer to protect its future rights at the airport. The airline said it plans to revert to a full schedule from Newark “as soon as possible,” CNN reported.
