United Wants U.S. To Cuba Flights At Newark Airport
United Airlines wants to provide commercial flights to Havana from Newark, Houston, Washington and Chicago.
If the United States and Cuba follow through on plans to resume commercial air flights between the two nations, Newark Liberty International Airport may see some new travelers hit its concourses.
In February, U.S. and Cuba officials signed a non-binding pact to resume commercial airline flights between the two countries by next autumn.

Such a move would mark the first time that scheduled flights will take place between the United States and Cuba for over half a century, according to the U.S. Department of Transportation.

United Airlines has been one of the companies pushing to provide some of the 20 daily roundtrip flights between the United States and Havana that would be allowed under the agreement.
“With people-to-people travel to Cuba now authorized, it's even more important to ensure individuals across the country – not only South Florida – have access to convenient air service to this beautiful and culturally rich country,” said Steve Morrissey, United's vice president of regulatory and policy affairs.
