UNITED WAY OF ESSEX AND WEST HUDSON ANNOUNCE PHILANTHROPISTS AND ENTREPRENEURS GERARD ADAMS AND TIFFANY “THE BUDGETNISTA” ALICHE AS NEWEST BOARD MEMBERS


[October 10, 2017 – Newark, NJ] – United Way of Essex and West Hudson (UWEWH) has announced of entrepreneur accelerator, FOWNDERS, and the founder of "Voice of Generation Y" publication Elite Daily, Gerard Adams and Personal Finance Expert Tiffany “The Budgetnista” Aliche as the newest additions to their Board of Trustees for the organization. For almost 100 years, UWEWH has worked to invest in the underserved by building stronger and healthier communities through education and economic empowerment programming.

“Both Tiffany and Gerard bring a wealth of knowledge and experience that will be vital to the growth and programming to the United Way,” said Catherine Wilson, CEO of United Way of Essex and West Hudson. “I look forward working with them as our newest members of our Board of Trustees and empowering our community.”


UWEWH primarily focuses on financial empowerment and childhood literacy and will be expanding into small business development and financial inclusion in 2018. To date, the organization has an integral role in providing more than 165,000 books to Newark Public School students and provided residents with more than $3M in federal tax refunds.

Gerard Adams, widely known as the "Millennial Mentor", is a leading thought leader, serial entrepreneur, angel investor and philanthropist. Adams is the co-founder of Elite Daily, the top news platform for Generation Y and the CEO and founder of FOWNDERS, a social entrepreneurship start-up accelerator.
