Unity Slate Takes 2017 Newark School Board Election: Unofficial Results
The Newark Unity Slate made its mark on Tuesday's Newark School Advisory Board 2017 election, according to early results.

NEWARK, NJ — The unofficial results from the Essex County Clerk’s Office have been reported, and with 99.07% of the vote counted, the Newark Unity Slate has made its mark on Tuesday’s Newark School Advisory Board election.
The three newly elected board members - Reginald Bledsoe, Flohisha Johnson and Josephine Garcia – ran on the Unity Slate.

According to the Essex County Clerk’s Office, with 107 out of 108 districts reported as of Wednesday morning, here are the vote totals:
- Swapan BASU - 730 - 3.67%
- Philip C. SEELINGER - 1,177 - 5.91%
- Jimmie WHITE - 592 - 2.97%
- Sharon SMITH - 451 - 2.27%
- Josephine C. GARCIA - 3,566 - 17.91%
- Reginald BLEDSOE - 3,382 - 16.99%
- Denise COLE - 1,047 - 5.26%
- Charles LOVE - 1,558 - 7.83%
- Patricia J. BRADFORD - 1,447 - 7.27%
- Deborah TERRELL - 1,486 - 7.46%
- Sheila MONTAGUE - 759 - 3.81%
- EZDehar ABU HATAB - 311 - 1.56%
- Jameel IBRAHIM - 181 - 0.91%
- Ryan TALMADGE - 474 - 2.38%
- Flohisha JOHNSON - 2,717 - 13.65%
