University's Igwe Named Nurse of the Year
March of Dimes awards given to several New Jersey medical care professionals

The March of Dimes New Jersey chapter has announced that Gloria Igwe from University Hospital received the 2013 March of Dimes Nurse of the Year Award in the Leadership category.
Through Nurse of the Year Awards, the March of Dimes recognizes nurses who demonstrate exceptional patient care, compassion, and service.
Igwe is a Nurse Manager in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, Intermediate Care Unit, and Pediatric Intensive Care Unit/General Pediatrics at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey. She is also a member of the NJ Nurses Association, the Nigerian Nurses Association, and Sigma Theta Tau International (Honor Society of Nursing).

“We could not do the work of the March of Dimes without the passion and commitment of our nurses. This is our opportunity to show them how special they truly are,” said Addy Bonet, State Director of the New Jersey Chapter of the March of Dimes.
Nurse of the Year Awards are given annually in approximately 17 award categories. More than 5,000 nurses were nominated nationwide, including 240 in this area.
