US Green Building Council New Jersey Hosts 2017 Golf Benefit

Funding Provides Underserved Youth Environmental Education and Climate Science

The 2017 US Green Building Council New Jersey Chapter (USGBC NJ) Golf Benefit will take place on Monday, October 16, 2017 at the scenic Black Oak Golf Club in Long Valley, NJ.

USGBC NJ is a State-wide organization of professionals, businesses, innovators and community leaders working to accomplish a bold vision. The mission of USGBC NJ is to transform NJ’s built environment to ecologically sustainable, resilient, profitable, and healthy communities. They accomplish their mission through education, advocacy, and collaboration.

The Annual Golf Benefit is a fantastic day of golf, followed by dinner, with terrific networking throughout. USGBC NJ members and guests represent the entire spectrum of New Jersey’s green building community. They make an impact within their sphere of influence and advance the movement for a more sustainable built environment. Join USGBC NJ on October 16th to connect with other industry leaders.

Donations to the USGBC NJ Golf Benefit support scholarships for LEED training and credentials and operations that help transform and create green, healthy, carbon-neutral schools and communities. There are a number of Golf Benefit sponsorships to choose from with a variety of sponsor benefits. The LEED Platinum Sponsorship of $25,000 is the Premiere Golf Sponsorship. It includes three Golf Foursomes, Lunch & Dinner Platinum Sponsorship, 18 tee signs, 4-three year USGBC NJ memberships, and Premiere/Priority inclusion in event promotions. All contributions to the USGBC NJ (501.c.3) are tax-deductible to the full extent allowed by law.

A goal of USGBC NJ is to expand our educational offerings to include students and youth from underserved households, as well as unemployed professionals—to obtain a LEED credential that will lead to greater employment opportunities, reduce the energy demand and the C-footprint.

Nearly 40% of our nation’s Carbon emissions (and energy consumption) are generated by buildings. Carbon dioxide is a leading cause of climate change. Green buildings generate less greenhouse gas, reduce the impact that buildings have on contributing to climate change while building resilience into our homes and communities.
