JVS and partner organization, Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Newark, to hold courses at Irvington Public Library
EAST ORANGE, NJ – Jewish Vocational Service of MetroWest NJ (JVS) recently announced that it has received a competitive $250,000 two-year grant from the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). The grant allows JVS and their partner, Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Newark, to help legal permanent residents prepare and apply for U.S. citizenship through free instruction and naturalization services. JVS has developed a curriculum that focuses on all aspects of the citizenship exam and interview, while Catholic Charities provides legal assistance in completing the N-400 Application for Naturalization.
“Hundreds of individuals who are determined to acquire U.S. citizenship will benefit from this generous grant. We are excited to offer these classes and provide others with the proper resources needed to achieve their goals at no cost,” said Addy Bonet CEO of JVS.
JVS is preparing to hold classes at the Irvington Public Library, located at 5 Civic Square. Registration will be held on April 27 at 6 p.m. Sessions will occur every Tuesday and Thursday from 6 - 8 p.m. beginning May 2.
