Police are searching for a man who allegedly stabbed a victim earlier this week in Newark.

NEWARK, NJ — Police are searching for a man who allegedly stabbed a victim earlier this week in Newark.

According to the Newark Department of Public Safety, the aggravated assault took place around 4 a.m. on Sunday on the 200-block of Park Avenue.

Surveillance video footage shows a man stabbing another male in the abdomen while he is standing in the doorway of a residence, police said.

The assailant left the scene, walking northbound on North 7th Street. Police said he was wearing a white t-shirt, black and white sneakers, and a satchel bag across his chest (see photo below).

The victim was treated for his wound at University Hospital, police said.
