Victim Stabbed In Newark; Police Search For Suspect
Detectives investigating the incident obtained surveillance camera footage that shows a suspect stabbing the victim, Newark police said.
NEWARK, NJ — Police are searching for a man who allegedly stabbed a victim in Newark earlier this week, authorities announced Wednesday.
According to the Newark Department of Public Safety, the aggravated assault took place around 11:19 p.m. on Sunday. Officers on patrol near Bloomfield Avenue and Mt. Prospect Avenue were flagged down by the wounded man, who told them that he was attacked on the 100-block of Bloomfield Avenue.
The victim said his attacker was with a group of people at the time, authorities noted.

The victim was transported to University Hospital and is reportedly in stable condition, police said.

Police described the suspect as a light-skinned male between 5 feet 3 inches and 5 feet 5 inches and 140 pounds. He was wearing blue jeans, a white t-shirt, a gray and white hooded jacket, and black and white sneakers.

Authorities said anyone with information about the attack can contact the Police Division’s 24-hour Crime Stopper tip line at 1-877-NWK-TIPS (1-877-695-8477). Anonymous tips can also be reported at the Police Division’s website.
