Vocational Technical High Schools Open House Saturday
Essex County Vo-Tech schools are in Newark, Bloomfield and West Caldwell.

There are programs in culinary arts, television production, auto repair, artchitecture, and law and public safety.
Essex County's Vocational Technical High Schools are open to any student in Essex County. Representatives from the schools are hosting an open house on Saturday to showcase programs and answer questions for interested 8th graders and their families.
The 8th grade school fair is taking place from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Essex County's Newark Tech High School campus at 91 West Market St. in Newark.
The fair is open to the public. Applications to the district’s four schools – Essex County Newark Tech and Essex County North 13th Street in Newark, Essex County Bloomfield Tech and Essex County West Caldwell Tech – will be available on site. Those attending will meet students, graduates, faculty and administrators from the four Essex County high schools and visit booths that feature the academic programs available.
Programs of study include: Agriculture, Food and Natural Resources; Architecture and Construction; Arts, Audio-Video Technology and Communications; Business, Management and Administration; Health Careers and Science; Hospitality; Human Services; Information Technology; Law and Public Safety; Manufacturing; Marketing, Sales and Service; and Engineering.

The Essex County Vocational Technical School District is New Jersey’s first Vocational Technical School System. Created in 1914, the school system provides both occupational and academic instruction for high school and adult students in the Essex County region. The district has four high schools: Bloomfield Tech, Newark Tech, North 13th Street Tech and West Caldwell Tech. In addition, the system provides adult programs in the evening at Newark Tech, and during the day at its Adult Training Center at 50 South Clinton Street in East Orange. The district has an enrollment of about 2,200 students and provides high level state-of-the-art occupational skill development and academic opportunities in over 25 career areas.
