Warren County Man Punches Two Newark Police Officers: Authorities
Police arrested a Phillipsburg resident who allegedly punched two cops in Newark, authorities said.
NEWARK, NJ — Police arrested a Warren County resident who allegedly punched two officers earlier this week in Newark, authorities announced Sunday.
According to the Newark Department of Public Safety, officers responded to the 300-block of Clinton Avenue at 5:09 p.m. on Friday after getting a call about a man with a handgun.
The arriving officers detained a man who fit the description of the suspect. At that time, a large crowd began to gather around them and a man hit two officers with closed fists. Then he fled the scene, authorities said.

The two officers were treated for non-life-threatening injuries at University Hospital, and are in stable condition, police said.
Detectives investigating the incident identified Khalil Cuttino, 31, of Phillipsburg, as the man who struck the two officers. He was arrested on Sunday and charged with two counts of aggravated assault on police officers and obstruction of the administration of the law.
