Water Main Break in Central Ward

Water service in parts of Newark's Central Ward will be disrupted following a water main break at the intersection of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard and Springfield Avenue Thursday afternoon, city officials announced.

The break will cause a temporary interruption of water service to that area, including the Historic Essex County Courthouse for at least four hours.

The north-bound lane on Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard is closed to vehicular traffic while repairs are being made and the street is repaved. Traffic will be restricted to one lane going west on Springfield Avenue and one lane going south on Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard.
