Water Main Break In Newark Impacts Traffic; Repairs Being Made
No residential water was affected, Newark public safety officials said.

NEWARK, NJ — A water main break closed down multiple streets in Newark on Tuesday, impacting traffic in the area. No residential water was affected, authorities said.
The Newark Department of Public Safety released a statement about the main break, which closed traffic near South Orange Avenue and Littleton Avenue:
“At approximately 3:55 a.m., police responded to calls of a water main break at South Orange Avenue and Littleton Avenue, affecting the area from Fairmount Avenue and South 7th Street and from 13th Avenue to 14th Avenue. The City of Newark's Water Department is at the scene and addressing repairs.”
Drivers are advised to anticipate delays and to plan alternate routes, authorities said.
