Over the course of three unforgettable days, the Kool Kids Foundation brought together musicians, athletes, actors, entrepreneurs, community leaders, and families for a celebration rooted not in celebrity, but in service.

Founded by Robert "Kool" Bell, legendary bassist and co-founder of Kool & The Gang, the Foundation continues to champion a mission that is transforming lives through music education, mentorship, and community investment. While the weekend featured recognizable names and unforgettable moments, the true focus never shifted from the young people whose futures are being shaped because someone chose to believe in them.

That was the heartbeat of the weekend.

For Muhammad Bell, the Foundation is more than an organization, it's a promise.

Speaking with UNWRITTEN Media, Bell reflected on the vision his father built alongside his late mother, Sakinah Bell, whose legacy continues to guide the Foundation's work.

"This foundation was developed and nurtured with my mom," he shared. "She passed in 2018, and she didn't really get to see what this has become. So we've got to make it happen for her, and we've got to make it happen for these kids."

That purpose could be felt throughout the weekend.

From the First Lady Awards, which celebrate women making extraordinary contributions in their communities, to the Day Party and Celebrity Golf Classic, every event carried the same message: create opportunities, celebrate community, and invest in tomorrow.

When asked why music education remains such an important part of the Foundation's mission, Muhammad Bell didn't hesitate.

"Music is one of the first things they cut," he said. "We want kids to learn to read music, write music, and play instruments. Music helped my dad. The Boys & Girls Club helped my dad. Why not continue doing that? It only makes sense."

Before wrapping up the conversation, he offered a simple challenge for anyone hoping to make a difference:

"Strive for greatness. Do it because you love it—not because you're getting paid. We do this because it's in our hearts."

Throughout the weekend, support came from every direction.

Guests including Vin Rock of Naughty by Nature, Lawrence Taylor, Shannon Briggs, Tom McClary of The Commodores, Tobias Truvillion, Tasha Smith, Skip Martin, and many others donated their time and presence to help amplify the Foundation's mission.

"I hope we continue this amazing success we're having," he said. "I hope more people donate. I hope more people become aware because it helps us keep music alive in schools."

"Look for a mentor. Follow good energy. Follow good spirit. There's so much darkness in the world—we need the light. Stay in the light."
