Windy Weather Causes Delays At Newark Airport: Officials
Heavy winds caused flight delays and suspended the Air Train at Newark Airport on Monday, authorities said.
NEWARK, NJ — Heavy winds caused flight delays and suspended the Air Train at Newark Airport on Monday, authorities said.
FAA officials said that due to weather/wind, there was a traffic management program in effect for flights arriving at Newark International Airport on Feb. 25. “This is causing some arriving flights to be delayed an average of 3 hours and 36 minutes,” officials wrote Monday morning.
In addition to the flight delays, the high winds shut down the Air Train at Newark Airport, which was suspended at 9 a.m. and replaced by buses, officials said.
