Woman Found On Rutgers Newark Campus Dies At Hospital: Prosecutors

A woman found "unresponsive" on the Rutgers University campus was pronounced dead at a nearby hospital a few hours later, authorities said.

NEWARK, NJ — A Newark woman found unresponsive on the Rutgers University campus Saturday was pronounced dead at a nearby hospital a few hours later, authorities said.

Jaleila Wilson, 42, was found outside a university building on the 100-block of Bleecker Street about 12:40 p.m., according to the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office.

Wilson was taken to University Hospital, where she went into cardiac arrest and was pronounced dead at 4:28 p.m., officials said.

The Essex County Prosecutor’s Office Homicide/Major Crimes Task Force is investigating Wilson’s death. Anyone with information can contact the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office tips line at 1-877-TIPS-4EC or 1-877-847-7432, authorities said.
