Middlesex County Men, Teens On Dirt Bikes Refused To Stop For Police, Cops Say (patch.com) — New Brunswick residents are at the center of charges after Middlesex Borough police say several local men on dirt bikes and ATVs refused to stop and drove recklessly through town earlier this month. A New Brunswick teen was also among juveniles accused of resisting arrest while allegedly riding bicycles dangerously near a QuickChek and Von E. Mauger Middle School.
2. 66 Middlesex officers, firefighters honored for lifesaving rescues (mycentraljersey.com) — New Brunswick residents should know that a city police lieutenant and several officers are being honored with a unit citation for their Safe Neighborhood Area Patrol work as part of a countywide valor ceremony. The 200 Club of Middlesex County is recognizing 66 officers and first responders from 19 agencies for dramatic rescues, lifesaving interventions, and major investigations across the county.
3. NJBIZ honors Saint Peter's CEO with Lifetime Achievement Award (njbiz.com) — New Brunswick’s Saint Peter’s Healthcare System president and CEO Leslie Hirsch has been named NJBIZ’s 2026 Health Care Heroes Lifetime Achievement Award recipient, recognizing his leadership of the city-based hospital network. Hirsch, who joined Saint Peter’s in New Brunswick in 2015, is credited with guiding the system through COVID-19 and spearheading major expansions, including a modernized Family Health Center and a major ICU overhaul.
4. The First American Nazi Infiltrators (washingtonmonthly.com) — A New Brunswick–born spy named Immanuel “Manny” Trujillo is spotlighted in a new history of Americans who infiltrated Nazi and white supremacist groups after World War II. The book traces how Trujillo and other undercover volunteers risked their safety to expose hate organizations, influence prosecutions, and document extremism, while also revealing the personal costs and moral gray areas of their covert work.
