NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ — Student off-campus housing was broken into last week in New Brunswick.
At 6 a.m. May 21, a private home on Wyckoff Street was broken into. The student who lived there, a Rutgers student, confronted the intruder, who immediately ran out of the home and fled in an unknown direction, said both Rutgers campus Police and New Brunswick city Police.
The suspect was described as a dark-skinned man, approximately 5'6" in height, with short dark colored hair and who was wearing dark clothing during the incident.
There were no signs of forced entry, no items were reported stolen, and no injuries were reported as a result of the encounter, said Rutgers Police Chief Carmelo Huertas, Jr.
The New Brunswick Police Department asks that anyone with information, or who may have been in the area at the time, contact the New Brunswick Police Dept. Detective Bureau at (732) 745-5217.
