<table><tbody><tr><td rowspan="8" colspan="5">Dennis RedMoon Darkeem is an Afro-Indigenous interdisciplinary artist born in New York City and currently living and practicing in the Bronx. He is the founder of RedMoon Arts Movement Inc., a community-centered arts initiative dedicated to environmental education, public art, and cultural healing. His work spans sculpture, installation, photography, film, collage, public murals, and socially engaged practice. 
Darkeem’s practice explores land, water, ancestral memory, transformation, and urban ecology. His projects often engage local communities through workshops, walking tours, youth programs, and participatory public artworks that center Black and Indigenous histories. 
Phases of his work include environmental documentation, large-scale public murals, sculptural installations using reclaimed and organic materials, and experimental film projects such as Sacred Grounds. 
His work has been exhibited in galleries and public spaces across New York and beyond, and he has participated in artist residencies focused on land-based research and cultural preservation. Through art, education, and storytelling, Darkeem creates immersive experiences that reimagine public space as a site for healing, reflection, and collective transformation.

As Spain’s crucial role in the American Revolution is not commonly known or acknowledged, Alborada Spanish Dance Theatre will celebrate Spain’s contributions and the legacy of Hispanics to U.S. Independence with a cross disciplinary program featuring a history Power Point presentation by Paul Soltis, a New Jersey State Parks Historian, and live demonstrations of Spain’s 18th Century dance and music traditions by Alborada's dancers and musicians as well as reenactment specialist, Maria Hill. •	The event brings to light how Spain and the Caribbean colonies shaped the battle for American Independence, including one of the most important players, General Bernardo de Gálvez. •	The focus on New Jersey highlights Juan de Miralles, a Spanish merchant based in Cuba who supplied funds, munitions, uniforms and supplies, meeting with Washington at his headquarters at the Wallace House and Old Dutch Parsonage in Somerset NJ owned by Jacob Hardenbergh, the first President of Queen's College, now called Rutgers University

Misha Tyutyunik is a Ukrainian-born painter, muralist, street artist, illustrator, and virtual reality artist living and working in Brooklyn, New York. A graduate of Pratt Institute, he collaborates with communities around the world to create public art and is regularly commissioned by organizations, brands, publications, and collectors.
Tyutyunik works across a range of styles and media to produce pieces that are both visually striking and thought-provoking. While often tailored to specific projects or clients, his work consistently retains a distinct personal aesthetic. He balances community-based public art, corporate commissions, and personal work, frequently painting with youth and community organizations and exhibiting in galleries throughout New York and internationally.
In 2018–2019, he completed a Fulbright Grant in Ukraine, focusing on public art through community engagement. He was also one of five artists selected to paint a sanitation vehicle for the New York City Department of Sanitation’s Trucks of Art initiative. In Tokyo, he recently auctioned work to benefit children affected by the war in Ukraine while participating in a group exhibition.
Most recently, Tyutyunik painted his largest mural to date—covering an entire city block in Kensington, Brooklyn for the Department of Transportation, with a design developed through community engagement workshops with local students and residents. He also completed a mural at Shaw Middle School in Spokane, Washington for the Washington State Arts Commission, created in collaboration with students, staff, and local community members. In addition, he led a group of nine European artists in creating Garden of Collective Futures, a collaborative mural at The Standard, East Village, as part of an E.U.N.I.C. Cluster-sponsored international project.
You can see Tyutyunik's works starting with an open studio on October 2nd from 5pm to 8pm, followed by an open gallery until October 28th. Studio hours are on Fridays from 1pm to 4pm, and Saturdays from 12pm to 4pm.

A native of the Bronx, Joy became entranced by classic R&amp;B as a child and cut her teeth as a singer in her church’s gospel choir. And while her family history is deeply musical—her grandparents helmed the Philadelphia gospel group the Savettes, and her father, the musician and songwriter Antonio McLendon, has produced, composed, and arranged his own astounding original work—she didn’t delve into the jazz tradition until college at SUNY Purchase. During her studies there she won the 2019 Sarah Vaughan International Jazz Vocal Competition, which introduced her to the larger jazz scene as a rising star to watch. She was heard, by audiences and critics alike, as a masterful interpreter of jazz standards and a rightful heiress of the sound, technique and charisma that defined her jazz heroines—including Vaughan, Betty Carter, Abbey Lincoln, and Carmen McRae.
Joy released her self-titled debut on the Whirlwind label in 2021, followed a year later by&nbsp;Linger Awhile, her breakout Verve debut, of which&nbsp;Down Beat&nbsp;said, “With this beautiful recording, a silky-voiced star is born.” The album earned her a Grammy® for Best Jazz Vocal Album in addition to a headline-making win for Best New Artist. A deluxe edition of the album was released, as well as the EP&nbsp;A Joyful Holiday,&nbsp;which took home Grammys® for Best Jazz Vocal Album and Best Jazz Performance in 2025.
