Court Tavern Reopening Planned For Beginning of October
The legendary New Brunswick club will remain the way it was, cleaned up, with a few changes, according to its new managers.

The Court Tavern's new staff is planning to open the nightlife spot for the beginning of October.
According to Marc Heifetz, the Court Tavern's general manager, the soft opening for the Court will come at the beginning of October, with a lot of specifics still being hashed out.
Heifetz, who also manages Mike's Courtside Bar and Grill, said the biggest changes to the beloved New Brunswick establishment is that it is "cleaner".

Much of the original artwork in the basement of the club has been preserved, as has the myriad of band stickers plastered up on the walls over the years.
The Court will now also serve food, with a light bar menu, he said.

The club unexpectedly shut down this past January, and in April, the Daily Targum reported that Mike Barrood, owner of Mike's Courtside Bar and Grill, had purchased the location.
In July, Barood purchased a liquor license for the bar from the now-defunct Marita's Cantina.
Heifetz said that despite the change in owners, the establishment has retained the "same feel" and management hopes that some of its longtime patrons will return.
Currently, the Court Tavern's official website is www.facebook.com/CourtTavern, Heifetz said.
