Dog Reunited With Edison Family After 2 Years

NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ - A Yorkie found wandering the streets of New Brunswick has been reunited with his family this week — after missing for an incredible two years.
Bruno, a 12-year-old Yorkie, was found last Monday, Feb. 20, wandering Commercial Avenue in downtown New Brunswick. Someone brought him to New Brunswick Animal Control, where officers examined him and learned he had a microchip, a city spokeswoman said.
The information in that microchip led officers to Bruno's owner, Mara Branco, of Edison. Bruno was a gift to Mara from her late husband; he ran away from home two years ago and had been missing ever since. Remarkably, he is healthy and in good condition.

New Brunswick Animal Control Officer Leroy Burke made contact with Mara's family and the reunion took place Wednesday morning at New Brunswick City Hall. That's Mara, and her son, Tristan, with Bruno. Patch has made attempts to interview Mara about the experience; stay tuned!
